Edward Waddell
Biological Sciences PhD student
Drexel faculty mentor: Dr. Daniel Marenda
Edward Waddell is currently a Ph.D. student in the Biological Sciences department under the advisement of Dr. Daniel Marenda. Edward received his B.S. in Biological Sciences from Drexel University in 2014. The goal of Edward's research is to investigate the mechanisms of function of particular proteins, Daughterless/TCF4, in mature neurons. Mutations in TCF4 are associated with schizophrenia and Pitt-Hopkins syndrome, a rare neurodevelopmental disorder. Edward also serves as a member of the College of Arts and Sciences STEM Connections in Biology program at Drexel University.
